Snorkeling & More ~ Croatia Day 3

While we were driving around Montenegro and Bosnia yesterday, we decided to go on a snorkeling/swimming tour today and while Brad drove, Suzanne looked for a company that: left from where we wanted to leave (Old Town since we are able to walk there), was at the time we wanted to leave (morning), did not host too many people (less than 12), had good online reviews, and had room for us. She found one - so after our morning routine of coffee/tea/breakfast on the patio, we donned our swim gear, and headed to the harbor in Old Town.

At 9:30 we met our boat ~ with only four other people ~ yay! There was one couple from Australia and one from New Zealand - all friendly - yay!

Our first stop was the Blue Cave - it is a natural cave that has no light, but the sun off the water outside the cave creates blue light within the cave. There were tons of people there and it was very cool - although the water was pretty cold for our "now acclimated to the Florida hurricane-producing warm water" bodies. We did not have a waterproof  camera with us, but thanks to Google images.......😉

Our next stop was supposed to be the Green Caves - three caves that are like blue cave, but have a green light within the caves. However, due yesterday's stormy weather, the surf was too rough by the mouths of the caves, so the captain decided that it was too rough, so off to a different area for us to swim/snorkel.

HI Brad!✋

The water was a beautiful aqua color and we hung out and chatted with the New Zealanders for a bit while floating around.

The next place we went was Lopud Island - one of the Elafiti Islands. It was quite charming and with no roads. We hung out here for about 1 1/2 hours, meandering the ocean walk and snacking. Lots of photo opportunities!

On Lopud Island, Brad learned his third Croatian word: Krempita! It's a very yummy dessert - a puff-pastry sandwich with a cream filling. 😋

We headed back to Dubrovnik, arriving at 1:30pm (oh, this trip cost 75€ per person), had a late lunch in Old Town, and headed back to our Airbnb to do laundry (yep - clothes get dirty on vacation too) and to prepare for the next place we will stay - Split!

Speaking of our Airbnb, here it is:

So we definitely enjoyed our time in Dubrovnik - partly because we really enjoyed our Airbnb's charm and views - and partly because it was a good time all around.

Hello from the boat! 😀
