Prince Edward Island ~ Day 3!

It was a much more uneventful start to the day today - when we went to the car, she started! 😀

We visited a different part of Prince Edward Island National Park - Greenwich Trails - the most easterly of the three parts of PEI NP. Our first walk (can't really call it a hike in our opinions) was along the Greenwich Dunes Trail. It started as a gravel path along some trees....

With lots of wildflowers......

Views of the bay...

Eventually coming to a wooden boardwalk.......

Which became a floating boardwalk.... (sounds cuter to say "floating boardwalk" than simple  "dock," but that's what they call it....... )

Leading us to....

The Beach!

As it was an in/out walk, we turned around and headed out........

On the way out, we stopped and walked about 1km of the Tlaqatik Trail which also has nice views....

Wildflowers....

And a mussel farm!

In our quest to find the perfect lobster roll we stopped at The Seafood Shack where one could order four different lobster rolls. We tried two: The Straight Up (left) - lobster served with melted butter and The Classic Catch (right) - lobster mixed with a touch of mayo and celery.

We both agreed that The Classic Catch was better, but what we did not like about either of these, which we also did not like about yesterday's lobster roll, was the "New England Style" roll - it is only open half-way and the lobster stuffed on the top - the bottom half is all roll, no lobster. We would prefer if the roll was cut nearly all the way open and the lobster stuffed throughout, so every bite has some roll, some lobster.

Lobster Rolls in order of Best to Meh.

Considerations: bread to lobster ratio and price

1. Doyle Sansome & Son, Twillingate, NL

2. Chelsea's Fish & Chips, Lewisporte, NL

3. The Seafood Shack's Straight Up, Morell, PEI

4. The Seafood Shack's Classic Catch, Morell, PEI

5.  Water Prince Corner Shop, Charlottetown, PEI

6. The Freight Shed Waterside Bistro, Baddeck, NS

We headed back to our Airbnb, chilled for a while, then walked around the downtown area of Charlottetown, about half a mile from us. There are lots of restaurants, shops, street performers...

.....and even a floating restaurant area.
