Welcome Center & Elks National Home, Bedford, Virginia

We decided that we’re sick and tired of all the rain and fog on the Blue Ridge Parkway ~ we’re just not getting in as much hiking as we were hoping, so a change of plans. We decided to veer-off the Parkway and start heading to one of our top destination places on our list to visit this summer, Washington D.C.!

So we went a few miles and a couple hours down the road stopping in Bedford, Virginia. Why Bedford, Virginia?  Our friend J.C. (hi J.C.!) mentioned a few times the great retirement center owned and operated by the Elks, so we had to see it. So we are spending the night at the WelcomeCenter in Bedford (they offer full hook-ups for $25/night) and we checked-out the retirement home. Well, Mom & Dad, we signed you up – your place is ready when you are! We found the place, so your other child will help you move when you’re ready. You’re welcome. :-)

Easy and affordable - no matter where you are!
