Virginia Beach, Virginia

We took an hour drive to check-out Virginia Beach. The beach itself was quite nice, although we couldn’t go on it with Zoey (dog). There was also a seemingly nice boardwalk that we began to stroll, until the nice police officer said that dogs weren’t welcome on the boardwalk either - bummer!

(Here’s Zoey’s mug shot.)

So we wandered a bit around Atlantic Avenue which was sort of boring – just a bunch of tourist shops, tattoo parlors, eateries, etc….So we left.

We came upon Cape Henry where there’s an historic lighthouse – yeah, that was just okay too. The most interesting this was it was on an active military base, which required not only that they look at our licenses (only the driver’s), truck registration and insurance, and a search of the truck – open the glove box, center console, hood, etc…..

Easy and affordable - no matter where you are!
