Crooked River State Park, St. Mary’s, Georgia

Well, we finally are out of Florida! Just by a mile, however, as Crooked River State Park’s exit is Exit 1 off of I-95. :-)

This is a lovely park – nicely treed, yet still open at the same time. The sites are all large enough for a 50-foot motorhome and have water, 50-amp electric and for some odd reason, cable! No sewer, however. There are free hot showers with good water pressure as well.  We plan to spend a couple days here and enjoy the beauty of the campground and surrounding area. We even saw a tortoise having a light snack shortly after setting-up.

We never got to do much more in Saint Augustine than the one day we meandered St. George & Alives Streets – they had just wicked storms these past few days – there was flooding, talk of a tropical storm and even a tornado watch within a few miles of where we were staying. We did busy ourselves with a huge blind restringing job while the weather kept us inside and dry – the restringing job we did one evening developed into a larger one – the couple wanted all their blinds restrung after we did the first two, so we really didn’t mind staying inside one more day. :-)
Easy and affordable - no matter where you are!
