It's bike week (also know as The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally) and although we haven't yet gone to the main arena of Sturgis, South Dakota, lots of bikers are around and have taken over the roads. Here are a few pictures from our neck of the woods ~ Keystone - just three miles from Mt. Rushmore.
Some interesting things we've noticed during bike week - and this just around here~
1. Gas went up a nickel at the one gas station in town.
2. Xanterra, the food service provider at Mt. Rushmore, never serves alcohol.....well, this week there's beer (and more) - people can walk around the monument with open containers - just no beverages in any of the buildings.
3. Suddenly, there are port-a-potties everywhere! Seriously - like along-side of the roads - look, there's a port-a-potty!
4. There are no nudity laws at Mt. Rushmore, so we've seen our share of butts & breasts.
5. The Outlaw Bikers (think: Hell's Angels) consider Mt. Rushmore neutral territory, so there's little concern of violence at the monument, however there was a murder at Custer State Park last year involving some motorcycle clubs.
Well, enjoy the picture below - more coming later this week.............
This is sort of a bike/RV combo..........
Easy and affordable - no matter where you are!
