Prince Edward Island Day 9 ~ Red Sand Beaches & Summerside

We originally planned a full day exploring the northwest side of PEI, but much of what interests us there is low-tide dependent, so at the last minute this morning we changed our plans and headed to Canoe Cove, another tide-dependent area where low tide was at 8:30am this morning. We arrived to Canoe Cove (on the south shore along the Northumberland Strait)  around 9:30am ~ the tide was (obviously) already coming in, but the views were still amazing....

We then drove to Argyle Shores for some more amazing views.....

...and happened upon an honor-system bakery with fresh baked products!

$10 later, we were ripping into a loaf of sourdough bread! 😋

We decided to drive to Summerside, the second largest town in PEI, stopping along the way at the the original Handpie Company....

...to enjoy a butter chicken handpie - our favorite so far!

We first stopped at Spinnaker's Landing in Summerside, a small touristy marketplace. Note: If you ever find yourself in Summerside, PEI -  skip this. 😏

We drove a bit down the road and found a nice parking area to access the Baywalk Boardwalk & Cycling Trail and walked a bit enjoying the views.....

...and the multiple bird houses and bird feeders along the way.....

We then called it an early day and headed back to our Airbnb to chill.
