Paris, France – Day 3 (September 7th)

Another late start today - eventually we made our way to the Musee Marmottan Monet (the Monet Museum). It was in a totally different part of Paris - definitely more affluent.

Some pictures from the museum..........

We then looked for a place for lunch. We went to one place where we ordered at the counter and they told us to sit and that they'd bring us the food (we hadn't paid yet). Well, we waited. And waited. And waited. Then got up and left - food never arrived. We then found a second place with probably the second host who had an attitude when we asked to sit inside (too many smokers on the patio), however we ended up having a very nice waiter. Enjoyed salads with the complimentary baguette slices. (Love that they always serve good bread on the side of all the meals!)

We then took the Metro to the Musee National Picasso-Paris (the Picasso Museum), but had to get off early as the train stopped working. We walked to the Picasso Museum of which two of the five floors were closed due to a new installation, so the tickets were slightly (not 2/5) discounted. (Guess math is done differently in Paris....)

Both museums were interesting, but limited. (Guess there are only so many Monets and Picassos to go around.)

As the Picasso Museum was near Le Marais, a neighborhood we wanted to visit, we walked and wandered the streets - along with everyone else in Paris! Holy shitt!! There were tons of people. We had gelato at a cute shop where you ordered the size of the dish/cone and then chose as many flavors as you wanted - yum!

Le Marais........

Pretty quickly, we were done with people for the day. Seriously - people were everywhere - the sidewalks are super narrow, everyone seemed taller than Suzanne (not a difficult feat, granted) - we were done. So we walked back to our neighborhood and stopped at the food store to get the typical provisions - need I say it? Cheese, coppa, wine.  And then the bakery for....yup, bread and desserts (three!) Brad is in the back.....

Dinner was great and we split the cheesecake (one of the three desserts) for dessert. Not so great, but then again, not sure Paris is known for its cheesecake.
