Exploring Asheville, North Carolina

Well, the rains came, actually, pouring rain, so we skipped hiking today and strolled around the downtown area of Asheville. As one merchant described it, it’s like going back to the 1960’s ~ lots of head shops. However, there were also fun art galleries and many restaurants.

We stopped in a few stores, eventually arriving at Olive & Kickin’, an olive oil and vinegar tasting room and shop. We tried a few of the vinegars and olive oils, and settled on a lavender balsamic vinegar ~ yum!  A few more stores, some great pizza at Circle in the Square, a few more shops, and we called it a day.

We really are enjoying the Asheville area ~ very picturesque, green, outdoorsy, nice people ~ it reminds us very much of Portland, Oregon, our home town.

Easy and affordable - no matter where you are!
