Olympic National Park Backpack Trip - Day 3

It was nice to not have our backpacks on for the day as we made our way up to Appleton Pass, a 2.3 mile, 2100 ft elevation (each way).

It was a steady climb, but we were happy that the trail was dirt and not rocks.  Oh yeah, Days 1 and 2 had us hiking on such rocky trails – the kind where your feet, knees, and hips just take the brunt of the force – nope, no pictures of those as Suzanne was concentrating too much to pull out the camera! There really wasn’t much at Appleton Pass, besides some campsites.

We worked our way down and called it day after 4-hours of hiking. (In hindsight, we probably would have just hiked out this day,  as we sort of just puttered around the rest of the afternoon/early evening.)

We hung out for a bit at Rocky Creek, a campsite about 100 ft from our campsite with our water source. Suzanne played with the camera a while……

And then Brad did as well….

Here’s Brad getting us some fresh water……..

Back at the campsite Suzanne played some more with the camera

While Brad prepared for the next poop!
