Our last full day in NYC started again at Zucker’s Bagels –
gotta get it while ya can! We then went
back to the Tenement Museum to go on another tour (yup – that’s how much we
enjoyed it) – this one was about Sweatshop Workers – about how immigrants
balanced family, work, religion, during the turn of the 20th century
when the Lower East Side was the most densely populated place in the world.
Again – really good!
Now we were considering going back to Katz’s again, but
realized that we had yet to enjoy some traditional New York pizza! How did that
happen? So we decided to compare the two
pizza joints that had top reviews and decide which we liked better. We each got
a slice at Joe’s Pizza and Bleeker Street Pizza – and the winner: Bleeker
Street Pizza!
We walked around the Tribeca area (where we’d live if we
lived in NYC – oh, and if we could afford it at a minimum of $8k/month for a
small apartment) and ate again at Eataly (Flatiron) at their pasta bar. The food was much better than their downtown
restaurant, but pricy. Suzanne did buy
some cannoli tubes to make her own cannolis……….so as soon as she masters
replicating the cheesecake from Pasticceria Rocco, she’ll work on those
cannolis!
And that was New York City! We had a blast and will definitely
be back!
