We slept quite toasty wearing our warming layers, in our sleeping bag liners, and under the down comforters - in fact, it was the best night’s sleep yet – even with the winds and rain.
We enjoyed some tea and coffee, then discussed where to
go…weather is shitty everywhere. Shitty = rainy and overcast. We didn’t
come to much more of a conclusion other than to drive north about half an hour
to a campground (with a gas station and
restaurant) to see a bit more of the Arctic, and then decide.
Once we got there, we first ordered breakfast – our only choice: toast with sunny-side up eggs and bacon. We came to learn in our month in Norway that they love their bacon – it is on everything! They also like “wet food,” meaning runny eggs, sauces, and lots of condiments on things – none of which are Suzanne’s favorite. Notice, too, the green salads – every breakfast we ordered had a green salad – with Thousand Island-ish dressing.
After breakfast, we asked about showers and laundry - our first showers since the hotel on Saturday – yay! The showers were awesome! $1 for 6 minutes.
We also did laundry.

By then, we were hungry for lunch, so back to the restaurant for a sandwich, Oh – and Norwegians love their French Fries – nearly every meal had those too!
So all in one place - fresh water, showers, laundry,
breakfast, gas, and lunch. 😁
We again looked at weather throughout Norway and decided to head south to where it’s sunny and in the 60s…..so onward to Kristiansund in southwest Norway! We drove south - still some rain but a few sun breaks as well.
Dumped the toilet cassette again. (See - Brad thinks it's fun! He is smiling!!😃)
We also (tried to) dump the gray water. "Tried to," meaning that there was seemingly never any gray water to dump. We think that there many have been a small leak, however even when we eventually did have dry days, there was never a puddle under the camper van. 😕
We had dinner at a restaurant in a small town - it was pretty good, Then drove another hour or so and found a great camping spot down a side road.
