So if you’re thinking, “Seriously, just how many pictures
are there?” Day 4 will be a good day for you. Our camera had a setting failure for
most of the day. A few people sent us their pictures from that day and we were
able to salvage a few of ours as well. Bummer
for us, but perhaps a relief for a few of you……
After a wonderful breakfast of Challah French toast (with
that real maple syrup) and fresh fruit, we were once again on our way.
Our first stop after lots of floating, rapids and canyon
views, we stopped at Shinamu Waterfall
which was a cool waterfall that you could walk behind and
slide down. (In your mind, see Suzanne doing this – there was a photo…….)
After a lunch of the usual (deli, fresh fruit, chips &
cookies), we rafted some more until we got to Blacktail, another hike.
This time Scott & Nick brought their guitars and we hung
around singing some pretty funky songs that Scott wrote.
As we continued rafting to our camp for the night, we
starting seeing some of the many sheep we would see for the rest of the trip
Dinner was Mexican Fiesta which began with chips, with
freshly made salsa and freshly made guacamole. (Yes, there were avocados being
scooped, etc….)
As always, fresh vegetables!
It’s been a while since there’s been a picture of Brad
eating……….
We camped below Forster Rapid that night, again, outside the
tent looking at the stars. It was always really fun to camp by rapids and hear
the water all night long. This was by far our favorite campsite – it was large
and sandy (no rocks) and everyone sort of put their tents in a large
semi-circle. Again, we fell asleep under the stars listening to the close-by
rapid………
Wow ~ that was quick!
