Day 2 in Zermatt (September 3rd)

Wow - we were definitely catching-up on sleep as we slept for ten hours! After breakfast (guess the menu), we noticed that there were clear skies and so we took the cog railway up to the summit of the Gornergrat (elevation 3,089 meters; 10,135 feet) to see the Matterhorn.

We took some photos on the way up while chatting with a couple from Savannah, Georgia and then spent quite a bit of time enjoying some awesome views...........

Of course there was a restaurant and gift shop..........

And a church...........

This is not a miniature house - this is actually a hotel way off in the distance -
yup, Suzanne and the zoom lens again!

On the train back down to Zermatt, Brad took hold of the camera while Suzanne chatted with a mother and daughter from Atlanta that were in Zermatt on a Tauck tour....

Brad snapped away..........

Zermatt from high above.........

We walked around Zermatt some more and had lunch at the Brown Cow. We walked to where we could see the Matterhorn from the valley floor...

We relaxed in the room and organized our stuff for our (three) train rides to Paris tomorrow. We had Italian food for dinner at Grampi's - amazing homemade pasta!!!!
