Canoeing the Salt Marsh, Eastham, Massachusetts

We took our inflatable canoe/kayak into the Salt Marsh, just past the Cape Cod National Seashore this morning.  Still dealing with the heat wave, we enjoyed a nice breeze over the water and the sightings of many birds – blue heron, seagulls, some others we can’t identify… :-)

We were surprised at the shallowness of the water – if we tipped, in many places, all we’d have to do is stand-up and maybe, just maybe, get our knees wet. There were some great views from the water, but since we do not have a waterproof camera, we did not bring ours to take any photos. Another neat thing about the salt marsh – free! Just park and drop the watercraft and you’re all set!

Easy and affordable - no matter where you are!
