Adams County Scenic Valley Tour, Pennsylvania

It’s hot ~ in the 90’s. So we decided today get out of the air conditioned RV and into the air conditioned truck! J The drive was quite nice – we saw a covered bridge that was used by both the Union and Confederate armies during the battle of Gettysburg.

We also enjoyed viewing farm land – they grow lots of peaches and apples in AdamsCounty.

Of course, all this driving made us hungry, so we topped at the Gettysburg Cupcake Café on the way home to enjoy some pre-birthday cakes. (Suzanne’s birthday is right around the corner – AGAIN – she’s 28!) Sort of like a wine tasting, the cupcakes were arranged in a particular order, least sweet to sweetest. So we tried the following, in order, with a big glass of ice cold milk: Root Beer, Death by Chocolate, Very vanilla Bean, Red Velvet, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Strawberry Vanilla. Our thoughts on each:
  • Root Beer – very “root beery,” however the cake was a bit dry
  • Death by Chocolate – okay, however although Suzanne likes chocolate itself, never has she been a fan of chocolate cakes/frosting
  • Very Vanilla Bean – most disappointing. This was the one we most looked forward to trying, but it lacked flavor.
  • Red Velvet – yum! Now some good taste and flavor – we were surprised how much we liked this one, in fact, our favorite
  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough – good, but Suzanne’ never been a fan of uncooked cookie dough, which was inside the cake
  • Strawberry Vanilla – sweet, sweet, sweet!!

Easy and affordable - no matter where you are!
