Bellagio’s Pizzeria, Mesa, Arizona

We had a great dinner at Bellagio’s Pizzeria on McKellips here in Mesa (they have a few locations). They have a lot of different foods – Italian, Greek and American – Brad enjoyed a gyro plate and Suzanne a Mediterranean pizza (with the wheat crust option) – both excellent and well-portioned.  We’ll definitely be back here again to try some more of their food – and recommend it if you’re in the area and have a hankering for pizza or Greek food. Yum!

Workamping at Mesa Regal RV Resort – Week 4

Well, we have two firsts in this post – a photo of one of Suzanne’s ASL (American Sign Language) classes (all signing “I Love You”) and later, a picture of Brad actually working!
Suzanne’s classes continued learning many words this week – all of these involving descriptions – colors, clothing and physical traits.  We’re all still having a great time learning abut one another and all of the students are doing great!

On Monday, Brad helped load/off-load and deliver items to the various resorts – you’ve heard this before. But Wednesday and Friday, well they were different kind of days……..

Wednesday ~ Similar to when Red Lobster sold all of its former decorations, a local tuxedo shop had a sale and the Décor Team bosses purchased 20+ tuxedos for the costume shop. Brad and other workampers were called to the store to load the clothes. Believe it or not, they were all cleaned by the next day (by other workampers) and were already being rented for Oscar Award parties!

Friday ~ Brad and another workamper (that’s Mickey in the picture with Brad) spent four-hours peeling the labels off of water bottles, which will eventually be relabeled with Mesa Regal labels. Yup – that’s what they did – sat in the shade, chatted, and peeled.

Fun times! :-)

Canals Across the City, Metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona

The metropolitan-Phoenix area has a large expanse of water canals that were originally built to supply water, but have evolved into areas where people can enjoy nature and recreation opportunities, such as walking and biking. Not far from our RV park are many canal routes and we took a nice stroll along one the other day with Zoey.

Workamping at Mesa Regal RV Resort – Week 3

Yet another week of workamping has come to a close – Suzanne’s sign language classes continue to move right along – students have enjoyed learning “family” signs (e.g. mother, son, brother) and we’ve all learned a lot about one another’s families.

Brad enjoyed a week of different activities:

On Monday, he made a bunch of deliveries to different parks. Here is a picture of the inside of one of the trucks that he loads/off-loads with other workampers.

On Wednesday, he and a bunch of other workampers reorganized bins according to whether they were “beach” items, “luau” items or “summer" items – this was the most educational day of Brad’s week, since he normally would have thought these all the same. :-)

Friday was a day of reorganizing – shelves were brought in (perhaps shelves he made in Week 1), boxes restacked – all that fun stuff.

Here’s something to ponder ~ notice you really don’t see Brad doing any work in these photos…….seems to Suzanne that all Brad does is take picture of others working….hmmmmmm…….. :-)

Red, White & Brew Restaurant, Mesa, Arizona

Red, White and Brew is yet another very good restaurant not too far from Mesa Regal, however, a bit expensive.  Perhaps we were expecting more of a brew-pub (given the “brew” portion of the name), but it was nicer than a typical brew pub.  The food and service – both very good, but as we said, the prices were a bit high. We might come back again, but probably for lunch and not dinner, to try and keep the cost down. Brad had great beef medallions and Suzanne onion soup and Caesar salad.
